Steering Group

The Mossley Business Network is run by a steering group of local business people who volunteer their time to ensure that local Mossley businesses are able to meet and make connections through networking. Your local steering group members are:

Melanie Anderson, Chairwoman;

believe we can make Mossley Businesses work well together. I was originally on the committee 4 years ago when it was an association but it never progress to the level it is at now, we have now over 30 members all working and doing business together.

I have a Business background as in 30 years of working for small businesses in the south of England, and understand the effort involved in making Businesses progress. I am an enthusiastic person about pushing forward whether its business or family or friends. I have 2 grown up children who would like to run their own business and one day they will.

I enjoy living in Mossley, until recently I sat on Mossley Town Council as a councillor so I  did get involve with local Issues like Buildings New/old, History,  and the community groups with the people  that Make MOSSLEY the town it is today.  It’s a great Pennine Country Town with its traditions that make it Mossley…. I enjoy walking, meeting new people, socializing and going to the cinema.

Sue Willett, Treasurer;

Like Mel, I too was on the committee of the MBA (Mossley Business Association) for several years and wanted a better and more productive way forward for all of us involved.

Whilst at senior school I chose the secretarial route which included typing, shorthand, book keeping, and administration.  These skills have stayed with me throughout my working life and leads me to where I am today, owning my own businesses and enjoying every minute of it.  Gaining over the years various qualifications, including GCE’s, Pitman, Sage computerised accounts system and various OCR qualifications.

I am an extremely caring person and I thrive and enjoy helping others which gives me great satisfaction, enabling people to build their businesses.

On a daily basis I am in a position of enormous trust dealing with client’s confidential and personal business transactions.

Throughout my varied career I have had the pleasure of working for Sir Michael Green, who is a prestigious business entrepreneur.  As a great fan of the theatre I have met Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, (whilst cheekily sitting down next to him on the steps in a London theatre) gaining his autograph and also Jason Donavan’s, both on the same day and on the same theatre programme. These are to name but a few.

Jo Bennett, Steering Group Member;

Marketing and Business Development with 18 years experience within strategic business planning, prior to becoming a company director for Dawn Consult in 2002, I was head of Marketing for Eurocall Ltd, a telecommunications company and Marketing Manager for the Chamber of Commerce, Training and Enterprise council. I hold a BSc in Business Studies, a post-grad certificate in Marketing and currently studying for an MA in Theology.

Jamie Brennan and Ashley Ault,  Steering Group Members;

We have been involved with the steering group from early doors. I (Jamie), work on the website and try to keep it updated as much as possible. Ashley is involved in the site maintenance and she is also the person who delivers all the wonderful tweets to the many local followers that we have accrued since the new twitter was started up. Ashley’s background is in PR and Marketing and she acheived a degree in the subject at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2009.  My background is in sales based roles and in the last year I decided to launch my own web design business. I am also due to be appointed a trustee with the Mossley Community Centre at the AGM in January which I am hoping to be able to offer as much help as possible, whether it be tidying the gardens of the community centre or delivering leaflets.

We have recently had a bouncing baby boy, Jamie John Patrick Brennan who is bringing us a wealth of happiness in our personal lives.
